Another good book and workout method is "Ready, Set, Go! Synergy Fitness" by Phil Campbell, also known as the "sprint 8" workout. It's a streamlined and shortened version of interval training like you do in normal swim training. Can be applied to any routine (running, treadmill, weights, swimming, bike, etc.) - totally works so check it out.
